Starting March 18, the passenger fuel surcharge for short-haul flights will increase from HKD 142 to HKD 290, a 1.04 times increase; for medium-haul flights, it will rise from HKD 264 to HKD 541; and for long-haul flights, from HKD 569 to HKD 1,164, both nearly a 1.05 times increase. Flights from Hong Kong to mainland China will remain at HKD 165.

Hong Kong Express

Starting March 18, the fuel surcharge for flights departing from Hong Kong to other regions (excluding mainland China) will increase from HKD 140 to HKD 290, more than doubling; flights from Hong Kong to mainland China will stay at HKD 165. Fuel surcharges for departures from Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia returning to Hong Kong will also increase. Flights departing from Japan, South Korea, mainland China, and the Philippines will keep their fuel surcharges unchanged.

Hong Kong Airlines

Effective immediately, the fuel surcharge for flights from Hong Kong to Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia will increase from HKD 162 to HKD 212, about a 30% increase; flights to Taiwan will go from HKD 162 to HKD 182, about a 12% increase; flights to mainland China will increase from HKD 185 to HKD 190, about a 2.7% increase; flights from Hong Kong to the Southwest Pacific, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (excluding Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal) will rise from HKD 589 to HKD 739, about a 25% increase.

Greater Bay Airlines

Starting March 18, the fuel surcharge for flights departing from Hong Kong to other regions will more than double from HKD 142 to HKD 290; flights from Hong Kong to mainland China will remain at HKD 165; flights from Hong Kong to the Maldives will increase from HKD 284 to HKD 541, about a 90% increase. Fuel surcharges for return flights from Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Maldives will also rise.
