A joke has been going viral online in the United States: Trump gave Rubio a pair of leather shoes, but they were too large in size. To demonstrate his loyalty, Rubio wore the ill-fitting shoes everywhere.

Miles Taylor, who previously served in the Trump administration but later became a Trump critic, wrote online: "Wearing (Trump-gifted) shoes became a private act of submission (especially if he got your size wrong and you were forced to walk around in clown shoes). Yesterday afternoon, photos of Marco Rubio's shoes were exposed." He wrote, accompanying the post with a magnified photo of the Secretary of State's shoes.

Another X user wrote: "Nothing better exemplifies Republican spinelessness than Marco Rubio and others wearing ill-fitting shoes because they don't want to offend (Trump)."

"Oh my God... Marco Rubio is wearing oversized shoes that our beloved leader bought for him. This is flattery on another level entirely," another netizen wrote.
