Phoenix Technology News, March 13 — Apple announced a reduction in commission rates. Following discussions with Chinese regulatory authorities, starting March 15, 2026, the commission rates for the China mainland App Store for iOS and iPadOS will be adjusted. The standard commission rate for in-app purchases and paid apps will be reduced from the current 30% to 25%.

In response, Tencent’s “Gao Factory Blackboard” issued a statement saying: Apple’s adjustment of the commission policy in China is an exciting development for the industry.

This change reflects a response to and respect for the voices of Chinese users and developers. For Tencent and all developers, a more open and win-win platform environment will emerge, fostering innovation and promoting the sustainable prosperity of the tech application ecosystem.
