Iran's strategy of "waiting for change through delay" combined with "dragging China into the water."

On one hand, they continue to control the Strait, causing oil prices to rise and putting economic pressure on the US and its allies.
On the other hand, they are trying to pull China into the situation, including possibly allowing Chinese ships to pass through or threatening to settle transactions in yuan.
Meanwhile, the US is investigating whether China is funding Iranian missile parts and other activities, while Iran is eager for China to get involved. The more chaotic the situation, the more opportunities Iran has.
A three-way game of thrones.
