Abstract generation in progress

The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) has launched an in-depth investigation into Linde Portugal’s proposed acquisition of industrial gas producer Acaíl. The AdC cites potential “significant impediments to effective competition” in the national markets for packaged industrial gases, medical gases, and home respiratory care services, as well as possible “vertical foreclosure effects.” The investigation will determine whether to approve or prohibit the merger based on its impact on competition and consumers.
