L3Harris Technologies Awarded $400 Million Contract for THAAD Interceptor Propulsion

L3Harris Technologies secured a nearly $400 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to produce propulsion components for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors. This award covers solid rocket booster motors and liquid divert and attitude control systems (LDACS) which are critical for THAAD’s unique ability to intercept ballistic missiles both inside and outside the atmosphere. The contract is significant for L3Harris as it expands its missile propulsion manufacturing and for U.S. defense readiness given the high demand for THAAD interceptors.
