Egg prices increase slightly

Abstract generation in progress

Lower downstream inventory levels, dealers replenishing stocks during dips, combined with tight supply of small-sized eggs, limited sources in production areas, rising feed costs, and losses on the breeding side leading to reluctance to sell, all support a slight increase in spot egg prices. As the Qingming Festival demand gradually increases, egg prices in late March still have room to rise. It is expected that recent egg prices will remain stable with a slight upward trend, but significant increases are unlikely in the short term. Today, the average egg price in main production areas is 6.34 yuan/kg in Shandong, up 0.20 from yesterday; 5.97 yuan/kg in Hebei, up 0.09; 7.07 yuan/kg in Guangdong, unchanged; and 6.4 yuan/kg in Beijing, unchanged.
