Second year of junior high, a time when passions ran high. Four of us came back to the dorm after playing night basketball.
We heard that someone in the adjacent class was playing the "bread game"—four people standing around bread, holding back, and whoever goes last gets to eat it.
I don't know what possessed us, but Que Zitong, who slept in the bunk above me, suggested we try it.
I initially refused, but then Kan Jiangyang said something that almost made me spit blood:
"Tianchi, you're so weak, you'd definitely be the first to go, you couldn't last anyway, what are you afraid of?"
My brain short-circuited and I somehow agreed. Que Zitong grabbed a baguette, and the four of us immediately stripped completely naked.
Except for me, the other three in the dorm all did sports, and most later took the athlete track in high school. After undressing, my 98-pound weight made me look pretty scrawny. Everyone burst out laughing and started ruthlessly mocking me. In less than three minutes, Shao Jianning was eliminated, and the three of us roared with laughter, all teasing mercilessly.
The glory that belonged to the victor turned into infinite embarrassment.
After another three or four minutes or so, Que Zitong, who had been charging ahead wildly, suddenly lost control and let loose explosively.
Man, Que Zitong's output was massive—the bread got sprayed everywhere, leaving me shocked for a long time.
Later we found out Que Zitong's position was off, otherwise he could've held on much longer.
Just me and Kan Jiangyang locked eyes, when Shao Jianning happened to come out after cleaning up and let out a loud yelp.
I couldn't hold it in—everything let loose.
Kan Jiangyang's face turned red and he immediately regretted challenging us, launching into excuses.
Just then, the dorm monitor's voice came from next door. We quickly cleaned up the mess.
After the dorm monitor left, nobody went after Kan Jiangyang about the bread—that stuff was too gross. We all felt like gagging.
Though Kan Jiangyang escaped death, he was the only one in our dorm who hadn't gone yet.
So everyone kindly spent six minutes helping Kan Jiangyang let loose.
To be honest, Kan Jiangyang's output was pretty impressive too.
