Vietnam Holds Elections for the 16th National Assembly

The voting for the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam took place nationwide on the 15th, with 500 representatives to be elected from 864 candidates. In addition to the National Assembly representatives, voters will also elect new representatives for local people’s councils at all levels, with a term of 5 years. The results of this National Assembly election will be announced before March 25th. The Vietnam National Assembly is the highest organ of state power, with a term of 5 years. The first session of the 16th National Assembly is expected to be held from April 6 to 25. (Xinhua)
