Qian Zhimin Bitcoin Case: 281 Request Mechanism Officially Takes Shape
On March 10, 2026, the High Court of the United Kingdom issued a judicial order regarding the civil recovery process in the Qian Zhimin Bitcoin case, which was officially published after the court’s seal.
This order is the result of a two-day hearing held at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre on February 16-17, 2026 (during the Chinese New Year holiday), as reported by Caixin. During the hearing, lawyers from both sides engaged in intense debates over the specific wording of the draft order. Since a mutually acceptable order could not be finalized during the session, multiple legal teams continued to negotiate repeatedly after the hearing. Under the discretion of Judge Turner, the final draft was only confirmed three weeks later and officially published after the court’s seal.
