Australian Senate Committee Supports Digital Asset Regulatory Framework Bill, Requiring Platforms to Operate Under License
Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 16, According to Decrypt, the Australian Senate Economics Legislation Committee released a report supporting the progression of the “2025 Company Amendment (Digital Asset Framework) Bill” through legislative procedures. The bill proposes to incorporate digital asset platforms and tokenized custody services into the existing financial services regulatory framework, requiring operators to hold an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) and meet asset protection and retail customer disclosure requirements. A six-month transition period will be established after the bill takes effect.
