According to data from the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC), during the first 24 hours of early March 2026, only 2 cargo ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz, and oil transportation was completely halted. Shipping activity dropped to zero instantly: the once busy shipping lanes became empty overnight, as if city lights had suddenly gone out.
