On March 16, 2026, the shipping sector was active, with the Transportation ETF (159666) experiencing net capital inflows of over 5 million for two consecutive days.

According to data from the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC), during the first 24 hours of early March 2026, only 2 cargo ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz, and oil transportation was completely halted. Shipping activity dropped to zero instantly: the once busy shipping lanes became empty overnight, as if city lights had suddenly gone out. The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) rose sharply for two consecutive weeks, increasing 14.9% last week and 11.7% the week before, significantly boosting shipping prices.

The Transportation ETF (159666) and its associated funds (019405/019404) are the only ETFs in the market tracking the CSI All-Transport Index, with core holdings including major shipping giants such as COSCO Shipping, COSCO South Oil, and COSCO Shipping Energy.
