Alibaba Makes Major Moves! TokenHub Business Group Established, Directly Led by CEO Wu Yongming; Mysterious "Wukong Business Unit" Exposed for the First Time

On March 16, Alibaba officially established the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group, creating a new organization focused on “Creating Tokens, Delivering Tokens, Applying Tokens,” directly led by Alibaba CEO Wu Yongming.

This is an important organizational adjustment by Alibaba in anticipation of the AI Agent era, with the Token Hub as the main focus to strengthen AI business strategy collaboration and fully implement Alibaba’s AI strategy.

The Alibaba Token Hub includes Tongyi Laboratory, MaaS Business Line, Qianwen Division, Wukong Division, and AI Innovation Division, covering everything from foundational model development and model service platforms to AI applications for individuals and enterprises.

Among them, the Wukong Division appears in the public eye for the first time,

Positioned as a “B2B AI native work platform that deeply integrates model capabilities into enterprise workflows.” This means, besides the C-end AI application Qianwen App, Alibaba will also focus on the B2B AI application market.

Dear Alibaba Team:

We are currently on the eve of the AI General Intelligence (AGI) explosion. A vast number of digital tasks will be supported by hundreds of billions of AI Agents, which will run on tokens generated by models, becoming the main medium for human interaction with the digital world.

Facing this historic opportunity, the group has decided to officially establish the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group, creating a new organization centered on “Creating Tokens, Delivering Tokens, Applying Tokens.”

The Alibaba Token Hub Business Group is directly led by me, strengthening strategic collaboration across AI businesses, reshaping work methods with AI, and maintaining an agile organization. The specific businesses include:

• Tongyi Laboratory: Creating leading multimodal models, continuously pushing the limits of foundational model capabilities, providing the most advanced models for the group and industry.

• MaaS Business Line: Building an efficient, open model service platform and technical system to support the entire industry’s AI ecosystem.

• Qianwen Division: Developing the best personal AI assistant.

• Wukong Division: Building a B2B AI native work platform, deeply integrating model capabilities into enterprise workflows.

• AI Innovation Division: Exploring various AI innovative applications, rapidly validating new models and markets.
