China National Nuclear Power Group's clean energy capacity exceeds 230 million kilowatts
(Reporter Wang Mengyao) On the 23rd, at the first press briefing for China State Power Investment Corporation’s 2026 development plan, it was announced that by the end of 2025, the group’s clean energy capacity will exceed 230 million kilowatts, with clean energy installed capacity accounting for 74%, an 18 percentage point increase from the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
It is reported that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China State Power Investment Corporation firmly implemented the “dual carbon” goals, continuously focusing on clean and low-carbon transformation, maintaining the world’s number one position in photovoltaic, new energy, and clean energy installed capacity. Offshore wind power is among the top domestically, nuclear power has formed a tiered development pattern, with planned installed capacity accounting for about one-third of the national total. The company actively participates in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, with overseas projects covering 25 countries and regions, with an installed capacity of 13.12 million kilowatts, and a clean energy share of 76%, providing a “Chinese solution” for clean energy worldwide. The company insists on placing ecological and environmental protection in a more prominent strategic position, vigorously promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional coal power industries, accelerating the elimination of outdated capacity, and continuously expanding green development advantages. Since the “dual carbon” goals were proposed, China State Power Investment Corporation has cumulatively reduced carbon emissions by over 1.4 billion tons.
It is also reported that in 2026, the company plans to invest 200 billion yuan for the year, a 17% increase year-on-year. In the first quarter, it aims to complete 23 billion yuan in investment, achieving a 35% increase compared to the same period last year.
