On March 22, Dong Beihai, the father of the murdered female nurse Dong Moumou, told reporters that after waiting for more than 600 days in agony and pain, he and his family learned that Shi Moumou had been sentenced to death on February 10. A few days later, the family went to Dong Moumou’s tomb to pay their respects and read the verdict on the spot to comfort the deceased. At the end of February, the family learned that Shi Moumou was dissatisfied with the first-instance verdict and had appealed.

Dong Beihai introduced that after the news of Shi’s death sentence was made public, some netizens claiming to be Shi’s family members posted on social platforms. The other party said sorry at the beginning of the online post and apologized to the woman, but the back of the online post was some unfounded expressions, “I believe in the court’s judgment and believe in the fairness and justice of the law.”

According to the clues provided by the woman’s family, the reporter contacted one of the accounts involved by private message, and the other party claimed to be a family member of Shi Moumou. He said that after all, Dong Moumou is dead, and it is normal for the woman’s family to vent, “As a parent, I can understand.” But from the incident to the sentence of Shi Moumou, the woman led netizens astray. The reporter proposed further communication and verification, but as of press time, the other party did not respond and emptied the work.

Dong Moumou’s sister believes that the poster did not apologize sincerely, and the woman’s family did not accept the apology. She has collected evidence and reported the inappropriate remarks in the relevant online posts. On March 14, the Changle Middle Road Police Station in Xi’an New Town issued a receipt for the case. She said the woman would consider suing the poster for this.

At present, the woman’s family is waiting for the next step in the case. Dong Beihai made it clear that he would not accept any apology from the other party, resolutely refused to issue a letter of understanding, and still insisted on giving up civil compensation and waiting for the final judicial ruling.

According to the prosecution’s indictment, Shi Moumou and Dong Moumou were boyfriend and girlfriend, and during the relationship between the two, Shi Moumou beat Dong Moumou many times, and the two continued to contact after being dealt with by the police.

At about 19 o’clock on June 20, 2024, the two drove to the southeast corner of the intersection of Liuyan Road and Nancheng Road in Baqiao District, Xi’an, and asked Dong Moumou to break up in the car, but Shi Moumou was unwilling to break up, so a dispute broke up. Shi Moumou took out a double-edged knife from the main driver’s footpad and stabbed Dong Moumou in the neck, causing Dong Moumou’s death.

After forensic identification, Dong Moumou was hit by a sharp object on his neck, causing the rupture of the right vertebral artery, resulting in heavy bleeding and death. The prosecution believes that Shi Moumou should be held criminally responsible for intentional homicide.

After the incident, the woman’s family found her diary when sorting out Dong Moumou’s relics.

The diary reads, "On January 3, 2024, I suffered great trauma physically and mentally, again and again. I don’t know when my body and soul have long been numb. On November 3, 2025, the case was heard in the Xi’an Intermediate People’s Court. On February 10, 2026, the woman’s family learned that the defendant Shi Moumou was sentenced to death and deprived of political rights for life.

The judgment pointed out that the defendant Shi Moumou’s intentional and illegal deprivation of the life of others constituted the crime of intentional homicide.
