The LPU, with 500MB on-chip SRAM and 150TB/s bandwidth, is dedicated to the decode stage. When working with GPUs, it boosts inference throughput per watt by 35 times. This paradigm shift means the focus of computing power competition is moving from training scale to token production efficiency and cost-effectiveness, driving demand for HBM, advanced packaging, high-speed interconnects, and reliable storage.
