According to information learned from the press conference held by the State Council Information Office this morning (the 18th), the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference will be held in Beijing from March 25 to March 29. This year’s Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, with the annual theme of “deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation,” has five major sections: forum sessions, achievement releases, technology trading, frontier competitions, and supporting activities. There will be more than 100 events in total, and it is expected that over 1,000 guests from more than 100 countries and regions will participate. This annual conference will hold 60 parallel forums, among which 21—such as “the construction and development of world-class scientific and technological journals” and “high-quality development of the technology services industry”—are being held for the first time, including 14 forums focusing on basic research areas such as quantum technology and the development and utilization of the Earth-Moon space. In major releases, the conference will make its first releases of “2025 Global Engineering Frontiers” and the “International Cooperation Action Plan for Open Science,” and unveil a series of major achievements, including “Top Ten Scientific Advances in China for 2025.” In technology trading, the annual conference will host more than 20 technology trading matchmaking and docking events, and more than 500 technology projects from both inside and outside China will participate in pitching and promotion. In the frontier competition, this annual conference will also hold the grand finals of the ninth Zhongguancun International Frontier Science and Technology Competition. As a “debut stage” for innovative enterprises, since the frontier competition began, more than 30 “unicorn” companies have emerged from it. This year, the application proportion of overseas participating teams exceeded 40%, and the number of artificial intelligence projects was 2.4 times that of last year. (CCTV)
