Odaily Planet Daily News: Anthropic, the parent company behind Claude, announced that starting at 3:00 a.m. Beijing time on April 5, it will stop allowing users to call the Claude model in third-party tools via subscription credits. AI agent tools—including OpenClaw—will switch to usage-based billing. Any such calls must be completed using an API or additional paid credits. Claude Code CEO Boris Cherny said, “We’ve been working hard to meet the growth in demand for Claude, and subscriptions were not designed for these third-party tools’ usage patterns. Capacity is a resource that the company manages cautiously, prioritizing customer use of our products and API.” The move is intended to “manage growth consciously and continue to deliver long-term, sustainable services.”
