The United States plans to create a record-breaking $1.5 trillion defense budget and expects real GDP growth of 3.1% in the fiscal year 2027.
ME News update: On April 3 (UTC+8), according to JIN10 Data, Trump’s budget proposal is expected to target actual GDP growth of 3.1% in fiscal year 2027. Trump’s budget proposal is expected to collect $464 billion in tariff revenue in fiscal year 2027.
U.S. President Trump released an outline of the FY2027 budget proposal, planning to request $1.5 trillion in defense spending, including about $1.1 trillion allocated to the Department of Defense, and $350 billion for the procurement of critical munitions and the expansion of the defense industrial base. The White House said it will cut $730 billion in non-defense spending under “strictly adhering to the overall spending red line,” affecting areas including education and environmental protection. More detailed budget documents will be released later.
The proposal includes expanding power-generation munitions production capacity, procuring 34 vessels (including a new battleship named after Trump and a new type of frigate), funding for the “Gold Dome” missile defense system, and more. The related content must be reviewed and enacted into law by the Congress controlled by the Republican Party before the start of the new fiscal year. (Source: PANews)
