ETHEREUM CO FOUNDER URGES APPLE TO LEAVE UK!
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is urging Apple to leave the UK due to the country's demands for "blanket" access to encrypted data stored on iCloud globally. The UK government's request has raised concerns about digital privacy, with the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) calling the order "dangerous" .
Buterin believes that Apple should withdraw from the UK to avoid compromising its encryption. He's even willing to put his money where his mouth is, stating that he'd buy an additional Apple device if the company made this move. This isn't the first time Buterin has spoken out on issues related to Apple and encryption.
In 2022, he praised Apple for adding end-to-end encryption for iCloud backups, calling it a "positive step" .
It's worth noting that Apple has faced pressure from governments around the world to compromise on encryption, but the company has generally taken a strong stance on protecting user privacy.
