Seoul gasoline prices reach a high of 1,854.75 KRW... Busan's prices are at a low of 1,806.85 KRW, with nationwide fuel prices rising simultaneously.
The average nationwide gasoline price is 1,823.21 KRW per liter, up 1.69 KRW from last week’s 1,821.52 KRW, marking two consecutive weeks of increase. Diesel prices have also risen to 1,818.79 KRW per liter, up 0.27 KRW from the previous week’s 1,818.52 KRW, showing a synchronized upward trend with limited growth.
By region, focusing on gasoline prices, Seoul’s price is 1,854.75 KRW per liter, the highest in the country, up 3.74 KRW from last week; Busan’s price is 1,806.85 KRW per liter, the lowest nationwide, up 5.96 KRW. As a result, the price gap between Seoul and Busan has widened to 47.90 KRW per liter. For diesel, Seoul’s highest price is 1,842.96 KRW, and Busan’s lowest is 1,802.70 KRW, a difference of 40.26 KRW per liter.
Regionally, the capital area shows strong performance. Seoul (1,854.75 KRW), Gyeonggi Province (1,826.10 KRW), and Incheon (1,813.37 KRW) all exceed or approach the national average of 1,823.21 KRW, leading the upward trend. In the Chungcheong region, Daejeon is 1,805.64 KRW, Chungnam 1,834.86 KRW, Chungbuk 1,831.36 KRW, and Sejong 1,807.75 KRW, with regional price differences widening. Chungnam and Chungbuk increased by 1.85 KRW and 0.02 KRW respectively from last week, surpassing the national average. Daegu in the Gyeongnam region is 1,810.13 KRW, a significant jump of 8.41 KRW; North Gyeongsang (1,817.50 KRW) and South Gyeongsang (1,820.84 KRW) show moderate increases.
Meanwhile, international oil prices are 1,829.34 KRW for gasoline and 1,827.96 KRW for diesel, slightly higher than domestic prices. Therefore, South Korea’s oil prices reflect international price pressures and may continue to rise in the short term. However, given recent limited increases, a moderate upward trend is expected rather than a sharp spike.
