OpenAI refutes goal shortfall doubts, stating enterprise clients and advertising business are growing strongly
AIMPACT News, April 29 (UTC+8), OpenAI refuted sales growth doubts on Tuesday local time, stating that both consumer and enterprise businesses are “in full throttle.” The Wall Street Journal previously quoted sources indicating that OpenAI has not achieved multiple project goals, and CFO Sarah Friar had said that if sales growth is not fast enough, it may be unable to meet future computing power demands. As a result, the stock prices of investors and partners such as SoftBank Group, Oracle, and CoreWeave fell accordingly. OpenAI stated in a release that demand from enterprise clients and the still-initial stages of advertising business continue to grow, and the internal atmosphere remains positive. OpenAI called The Wall Street Journal’s report “a typical clickbait headline,” and said that expanding computing power remains a “key driving factor” that can “provide better product experiences for customers.”
