The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has seized more than 10 million USD in cryptocurrency related to the Sinaloa cartel during operations in Miami, Florida. The seizure is part of a nationwide crackdown, resulting in the confiscation of 44 million fentanyl pills, 4,500 pounds of fentanyl powder, nearly 65,000 pounds of methamphetamine, and over 201,500 pounds of cocaine since the beginning of 2025.

The DEA is targeting gangs by arresting and seizing assets. The Sinaloa cartel, one of the six Mexican drug trafficking organizations considered a global “terrorist group,” primarily distributes cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl.

Recent raids have seized hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine and led to multiple arrests, including Ovidio Guzman Lopez, the son of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. Attorney General Pamela Bondi warned: “One pill can kill.”
