Studio Chain Launches Mainnet to Power Web3 Gaming and Entertainment

• As the first project on Studio Chain, AMGI Studios, the official launch partner established by Pixar, Disney, and ILM industry veterans, will release its flagship game.

The mainnet launch of Studio Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain designed for Web3 gaming and entertainment, was announced by the Karrat Foundation. It gives creators and studios access to tokenized IP and content rights, transparent governance, and democratized finance channels via a high-performance, developer-friendly infrastructure.

As the first project on Studio Chain, AMGI Studios, the official launch partner established by Pixar, Disney, and ILM industry veterans, will release its flagship game, My Pet Hooligan. With an emphasis on accessibility and user experience, the game—which is now in trial on Steam—will provide a practical illustration of how well-known entertainment IPs may make use of Web3 infrastructure.

Caldera and Arbitrum Orbit were used in the development of Studio Chain, which is fueled by the native gas token $KARRAT. Since its design facilitates integration with conventional media processes and supports on-chain ownership, interoperability, and token-based incentive systems, its main goal is to provide useful, entertaining use cases. With Web3, communities and supporters can now take part in fundraising, studio governance, and studio development, giving studios the tools they need to compete in an increasingly competitive market.

In a novel way, the chain presents Resiliency Nodes (RNs), a staking-based mechanism that allows every member of the community to contribute to network uptime and security, no matter how much they give. Aiming for a 100 million token lockup, 20 nodes are coming live with the launch, each of which is enabled by staking $5 million $KARRAT. Supported by 20 million $KARRAT contributed by The Karrat Foundation, participants will get up to 20% APY and sequencer revenue shares in Year 1 reward pools. Additionally, they will be exposed to AMGI Studios’ forthcoming ecosystem tokens.

By substituting open, pooled staking for license-based access, the RN model reduces the entrance barrier in comparison to standard validator systems. This is done in an effort to align incentives among participants and encourage more decentralization via community engagement.

By staking $KARRAT to further secure the network, working together on integrations, tools, or media efforts, and promoting community awareness as developer and creative access grows, Studio Chain is extending an invitation to partners to take part in the network’s expansion.
