Bitnomial announces upcoming launch of the first CFTC-regulated leveraged retail spot cryptocurrency exchange

TechFlow reports that on December 4, according to PRNewswire, US derivatives exchange company Bitnomial announced the upcoming launch of the first leveraged retail spot cryptocurrency exchange operating under CFTC regulation. The exchange will operate through its designated contract market (DCM), Bitnomial Exchange, and its derivatives clearing organization (DCO), Bitnomial Clearinghouse.

The platform provides net settlement services for retail and institutional traders, supporting portfolio margining for spot, perpetual contracts, futures, and options, thereby eliminating redundant margin requirements. For the first time, institutions and brokers will have access to a CFTC-regulated spot exchange, rather than being regulated by state money transmission laws.

Bitnomial founder and CEO Luke Hoersten stated that leveraged spot cryptocurrency trading can now take place under the same US regulatory framework as perpetual contracts, futures, and options. The platform is scheduled to officially launch during the week of December 8.
