YouTube launches stablecoin payment feature, creators can receive PYUSD via PayPal

Gold Financial reports that, according to Fortune, YouTube has launched a new feature allowing US creators to receive stablecoin payments via PayPal. PayPal cryptocurrency head May Zabaneh confirmed that creators can now choose to receive platform revenue shares in the form of PayPal stablecoin PYUSD. This feature is currently only available to US users.
YouTube has previously been a client of PayPal’s payment services, using them to provide gig and contractor payments for large enterprises. In early Q3, PayPal added a feature for its payment recipients to receive funds in PYUSD, and subsequently, YouTube decided to offer this option to creators.
Zabaneh stated: “Our advantage is that YouTube does not need to directly engage with cryptocurrencies; we help eliminate that complexity.”
