PANews January 7th News, according to Reuters, MSCI announced that it will not exclude “Digital Asset Treasury Companies” (DATCOs) from its indices in the near future. The current definition will be maintained, meaning companies with more than 50% of their assets in digital assets will continue to be included. The related review has been postponed until February 2026. Companies including Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) will temporarily retain their index status. MSCI stated that investor feedback indicates some DATCOs are similar to investment funds, and further clarification is needed regarding the classification standards for non-operating asset companies.
