Odaily Planet Daily reported that U.S. President Trump declared on Wednesday evening that, as the Commander-in-Chief, his power is only limited by “his own moral standards,” and he disregards international law and other mechanisms that check his use of military force, strikes against countries worldwide, invasions, or pressure. In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, when asked whether his global authority is subject to any restrictions, Trump responded, “Yes, one thing is certain. That is my own moral code and personal will. That is the only factor that can stop me.” “I don’t need international law,” he added. “I have no intention of harming anyone.” When further asked whether his government needs to comply with international law, Mr. Trump replied, “Of course I will comply.” But he also explicitly stated that when these constraints apply to the United States, he will serve as the final arbiter. He said, “It depends on what you define as international law.”
