Vitalik: Ethereum should build a "shelter-type technology"

At the same time, Ethereum’s role in improving real-life situations remains limited. He suggested that Ethereum should be positioned as part of building “shelter-type technology,” which uses open-source, decentralized technology to provide users with a robust space for collaboration and value management, rather than solely focusing on finance or pursuing “world-changing” disruption.

Vitalik Buterin emphasized that the core of Ethereum is to create an “ownerless shared digital space” that supports long-term digital arrangements such as multi-signature, markets, and governance structures, and to collaborate with a broader ecosystem to enhance resilience against external pressures.
