Today, we’re excited to announce the official launch of Clash of Nodes, an incentivized testnet where validators, light client operators, and others can help validate our network, earn points, and compete for fun and potential rewards.
We’re gearing up to hit mainnet in the coming months, so Clash of Nodes is your chance to experience how Avail will work once it’s launched.
How does it work?
Clash of Nodes is a life-and-death struggle (not really, of course), where validators, light client operators, and other participants complete challenges on Avail for a chance to earn rewards:
- Validators who consistently and correctly validate the chain throughout the testing period.
- Participate in challenges to simulate more and more rollups (or larger rollups) running on Avail with full nodes and light clients.
- Participate in simulations of adverse events or extreme scenarios that may occur in the real world, such as cyberattacks, large-scale transaction congestion, data loss, or other situations that may threaten the stability and security of the network
The first challenges are coming
Here are some of the first challenges coming at launch and shortly thereafter:
- Gladiator Primer: Make as many blocks as you can.
- Brave Warrior: Strictly follow the rules of the protocol.
- Challenge the most transfers: Test as many transfers as possible.
- Discover yourself: Add and verify your identity.
- Staking: Make sure the total staking amount is as high as possible.
- Magic Nomination Pool: Create the highest total nomination pool for the entire testnet period.
For light client operators, your challenges will come in the coming weeks, but you can warm up now by running a light client in a matter of seconds.
For the rest of the users, challenges like balance transfer and identity settings can be taken and completed by anyone!
