At 4 a.m. on September 6th, Ordinalsprotocol founder Casey led a major confrontation in the BTC ecosystem.
Casey posted on X, claiming to be co-founder of Ordinals, but Rocktoshi is not a co-founder. Casey revealed more details about their journey from founding the company to parting ways.
As soon as one voice rises, the voices of the crowd join in. Then, various pros in the BTC ecosystem, such as Erin, LEO, Charlie, Ninja, etc., openly began to accuse Rocktoshi.
Everyone has counted the Rocktoshi’s responsibilities, including Rocktoshi’s continuous fundraising under the identity of Ordinals co-founder (but not actually), the Node Monkey project was led by Rocktoshi, and it quickly made millions of dollars in profits. Its behavior style has been criticized, such as unpleasant cooperation, fraud, deception, intimidation, and threats.
All the targets are pointing to Rocktoshi, and the project Node Monkey led by him has also plummeted. In response to these accusations, Rocktoshi simply replied, “I am not a fraud.”
With one voice, the voices are in harmony
First of all, Casey, the founder of Ordinals protocol, published a blog post in the early morning today and synchronized it to Twitter, titled ‘How Ordinals Came Into Being’.
This is a response to Rocktoshi’s claim on X two days ago that he is an Ordinals co-founder. In a tweet two days ago, Rocktoshi also mentioned, ‘Before Casey joined, I had been researching how to implement Non-fungible Tokens on BTC.’
In Casey’s article ‘How Ordinals Are Generated’, Casey directly denies that Rocktoshi is a co-founder and states that Rocktoshi has made no contribution to the concept generation and code design of Ordinals.
Casey also said that Casey and Rocktoshi used to be private frens, and Rocktoshi was one of the four co-founders of Ordinals Corporation. However, this company dissolved three months later and had no connection with Ordinary.
And shortly after the establishment of Ordcorp, Casey felt that Rocktoshi was untrustworthy. “I told him I didn’t want to work with him anymore, but he was still unreasonable, and finally demanded 5 million US dollars for his stake in the company.”
After finally resolving the issue of dissolving the company, Rocktoshi continued to send threatening, insulting, and emotional emails to Casey for several months.
Casey also said that he learned that many people in the BTC ecosystem had experienced similar long-term threats, deception, manipulation, and fraud by Rocktoshi. ‘Rocktoshi used his close relationship with me to integrate himself into the ecosystem, and I regret not speaking out earlier like others.’
Currently, in addition to Casey, there are also some people’s condemnations as follows:
@NFTJoona: On X, he said that he had reached a simple protocol deal with Rocktoshi, and one day Rocktoshi blackmailed him to cancel the protocol transaction and threatened to sue him.
@cbspears: In January this year, he said on X that Rocktoshi had been harassing him for about six months and threatened to sue him. What he called “exposing” was groundless.
It also indicates, “I am worried that he will continue to manipulate and attack others with the profits of millions of dollars obtained from the Nodemonkes project mint and the increasing influence in the Ordinals ecosystem.” This also implies that Rocktoshi has made millions of dollars in profits in the node candidate project.
@TO: On X, he expressed that in the past month, he has experienced deceitful and manipulative behavior from Rocktoshi, as well as indifference towards the harm he caused to others. Several members of his community (including the founder of his investment portfolio) contacted him and recounted their experiences of receiving messages directly from Rocktoshi, ‘intended to tarnish my reputation and disrupt its business relationships.’
@LeonidasNFT: Rocktoshi has launched numerous projects under various pseudonyms in the past 18 months.
However, these accusations on appeal did not disclose any evidence, not even chat records. Rocktoshi responded to the above accusations with “I am not a fraud, what I said is true, Casey should stop personal attacks and defamation.”
The market is not good, and there are always many tears
Perhaps, the above accusations have always existed. When the market is good, everyone is busy making money, dealing with various affairs, and busy developing projects. They don’t have time for these non-core interest disputes.
And this time, Rocktoshi directly claimed to be a co-founder of Ordinals, which is considered to have touched Casey’s cake. ‘There can only be one god’, the title of co-founder is indeed valuable and intimidating. And the position of Ordinals in the BTC ecosystem also determines the importance of this title in the BTC ecosystem.
As for whether Rocktoshi has made contributions to Ordinals, only a few core people actually know, perhaps only Rocktoshi and Casey know.
