The Japanese police confirmed that the North Korean Hacker group Lazarus Group was responsible for the DMM Bitcoin BTC theft case Hacker.

Techub News, according to CoinDesk Japan, the Japanese National Police Agency reported that the hacker who stole 4502.9 BTC from the cryptocurrency exchange DMM Bitcoin has been confirmed to be the North Korean cyberattack organization TraderTraitor, which is affiliated with the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group. The attack was carried out in multiple stages. The police agency stated that it will continue to cooperate with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3), and international partners to investigate the illegal activities of North Korean hackers, including cybercrime and asset theft incidents involving encryption.

Techub News previously reported that DMM Bitcoin plans to cease operations and transfer customer assets to SBI VC Trade, an exchange operator under SBI Group, around March next year. DMM Bitcoin suffered a hacker attack in May, losing about 48.2 billion yen (approximately 321 million US dollars).
