On January 20th local time, Donald Trump was officially inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States. To commemorate this historic moment, the Trump family’s encryption project WLFI (World Liberty Financial) announced a series of encryption asset investment initiatives, including a $47 million investment in WTBC (Wrapped Bitcoin). This not only marks WLFI’s further expansion and deepening in the field of encryption assets, but also strongly demonstrates the outstanding competitiveness and broad development prospects of WBTC due to its unique advantages in the market.

WBTC (Wrapped Bitcoin) is an ERC-20 token issued by BitGo on the Ethereum blockchain, backed by a 1:1 peg to Bitcoin. It is custodied by a joint venture between BitGo and BiT Global, focusing on providing custody and cold storage services for WBTC across multiple jurisdictions.

BiT Global Trust Director Z Liu said that the encryption market is currently at a critical moment, and decentralized assets, especially packaged Bitcoin products, are gradually gaining ground. He said, ‘We are pleased that President Trump has chosen WBTC, which not only demonstrates the advantages of WBTC in liquidity and transparency, but also indicates its convenient cross-chain and DeFi protocol trading and low fees. We firmly believe that WBTC will continue to lead the deep integration of Bitcoin and the DeFi ecosystem.’

As of now, the partners of WBTC have exceeded 110, and they have supported multiple blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Osmosis, Kava, Base, etc. They have also achieved circulation to multiple networks such as BNBChain, Solana, Arbitrum, etc. through cross-chain technologies like LayerZero. With its low transaction costs, high liquidity, and transparent custody mechanism, WBTC has become one of the largest Bitcoin DeFi applications, providing investors worldwide with more efficient and flexible asset allocation and trading services.

WLFI chose to purchase WBTC worth 47 million US dollars, not only highly recognizing the investment value of WBTC, but also showing strong optimism for the future development prospects of encryption assets. As an important part of the encryption assets, WBTC will create more opportunities for WLFI’s layout in the global financial market, and promote its strategic expansion and influence growth.

On the first day of Trump’s inauguration, WLFI laid out the layout of WTBC, demonstrating WTBC’s core advantages in the encryption ecosystem and laying a solid foundation for its deep integration with the Bitcoin and DeFi ecosystems. In the future, WTBC is expected to continue to lead industry innovation, bring more opportunities and development space to the encryption market, and become one of the important forces leading the global financial market transformation with its outstanding performance in liquidity, transparency, and cross-chain transactions.

In addition to WBTC, WLFI also announced the purchase of $4.7 million worth of TRX (TRON token) , marking WLFI’s first investment in a Chinese project. This not only demonstrates WLFI’s forward-looking vision in the encryption asset field, but also reflects its active support for decentralized finance and blockchain technology development.
