Original Title: Cryptocurrency funds attract US$ 864 million worldwide, but Brazil goes against the trend with R$ 9 million outflows
Original Link:
Cryptocurrency investment funds around the world registered inflows of US$ 864 million (R$ 4.6 billion) last week, marking the third consecutive seven-day period of modest inflows. The data indicates that this behavior reflects a cautious but increasingly optimistic investor base.
However, Brazil took the opposite path, with outflows from cryptocurrency funds of US$ 1.7 million (R$ 9.1 million). Regionally, the strongest sentiment was observed in the United States, which recorded US$ 796 million in inflows last week. There were also inflows in Germany (US$ 68.6 million) and in Canada (US$ 26.8 million). These three countries dominated the flows throughout the year, accounting for 98.6% of the year-to-date inflows (YTD).
Bitcoin has not yet reached 2024 levels
In terms of asset type, Bitcoin attracted US$ 522 million in inflows, while short investment products in Bitcoin continued to record outflows totaling US$ 1.8 million, signaling a recovery in sentiment. Still, Bitcoin remains relatively behind this year, with US$ 27.7 billion in inflows year-to-date, compared to US$ 41 billion in 2024.
Ethereum recorded US$ 338 million in inflows last week, bringing total year-to-date inflows to US$ 13.3 billion, a 148% increase compared to 2024.
Inflows into Solana remain smaller, at US$ 3.5 billion year-to-date, but this still represents a tenfold increase compared to 2024. Aave and Chainlink had inflows of US$ 5.9 million and US$ 4.1 million, respectively, last week, while Hyperliquid recorded outflows of US$ 14.1 million.
BlackRock in the lead
When analyzing by product, BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF, iShares, led the fundraising: it received inflows of US$ 352 million. The Volatility Shares Trust followed, with inflows of US$ 162 million.
On the outflows side, the biggest drain was 21Shares AG, with a negative result of US$ 48 million. Grayscale Investments had outflows of US$ 12.8 million, and another fund experienced outflows of US$ 11.1 million.
