#大户持仓动态 Daily Trading Trap Breakdown: Why Heavy Positions with High Leverage Are the Fastest Way to Lose Money

People who haven't been in the crypto space for long are often driven by one thought:

"Capital is so limited, how else to turn things around without leverage?"

And so, they naturally follow an old path—taking large positions with high leverage, becoming among the fastest to pay tuition in the market.

Let's start with the conclusion:

Heavy positions with high leverage are not "possibly losing"
but "certain to lose."
It's just a matter of time.

Why do I say this? Many people misunderstand one thing.

They think: leverage is a profit amplifier

But the reality is completely the opposite: leverage always amplifies volatility.

Has there ever been a truly one-sided trend in the crypto market? Honestly, much less than you might imagine. What’s more common? Fluctuations, reversals, sharp upward moves, sharp downward dives, and conveniently sweeping out retail liquidity. That’s daily life.

The most painful scenarios are often like this—

The direction is right
The overall trend is correct
But life gets stuck at the point of "not seeing the trend fully unfold"

Stop-loss gets wiped out, positions get liquidated—these seem like technical issues, but in reality? It’s because your initial position setup was fundamentally flawed.

Do you know what kind of users exchanges most welcome?

Not those who consistently profit

But these four types:

- Frequently operating with full positions
- Using 20x, 50x leverage at will
- Entering and exiting multiple times a day
- Stubbornly holding on without wanting to stop-loss

What does this group mean to the exchange’s ledger?

Stop-loss is liquidity
Liquidation is the counterparty
Fees? That’s stable cash flow

You think you’re "betting to turn things around"

But in fact, you’re just fueling the market.

Those who truly survive long in this market often share these traits:

• Control each trade’s position size, don’t let one mistake be fatal
• Keep leverage low or avoid it altogether, able to withstand normal fluctuations
• Prioritize "staying alive and continuing to play"
• Value certainty over chasing high odds

It’s not that they lack the desire to make big money, but they understand one thing:

Opportunities to make money come one after another
Losing all your capital only happens once

If you’re still fantasizing:

Betting heavily once or twice to turn things around
Using ultra-high leverage to solve life’s problems

Then stop fooling yourself. This isn’t trading; it’s self-elimination.

I’m not talking about mysticism or selling courses—just sharing those experiences that you’ll eventually have to pay tuition for, in advance.

A final, very practical tip:

If you’ve already started trading, at least choose a platform with reasonable fees.

It sounds basic, but this might be the easiest step to overlook

It's the same old story, heard it too many times... but some people just won't listen, they have to blow up once to be satisfied. --- Sounds good, but when the market starts to rise, how many can resist the temptation? I really can't stand those post-hoc armchair strategists. --- "Capital wiped out only happens once," this hits the mark, but the problem is most people simply can't remember it. --- Leverage is just compressing the time of wins and losses. It's exciting, but the cost is too high. --- The suggestion that fees should be reasonable is excellent; ironically, no one really cares about this. --- Among the people I know, those who live the longest are very Zen in their trading; on the other hand, those who keep shouting about turning their fortunes around have mostly disappeared. --- Before wiping out, you think you're one in ten thousand; after wiping out, you realize you're just fuel. --- In plain terms, greed is human nature; surviving is the real skill.

You're absolutely right. My friends who were heavily invested have already been liquidated. They're really just working for the exchange. --- The phrase "can't catch the market" hits home. I've been wiped out several times due to liquidity. --- It's ridiculous that even when I pick the right direction, I still lose money. Turns out, it's really a position size issue. --- Leverage amplifies volatility but doesn't increase profits. I used to misunderstand this point. --- It's truly despairing when stop-loss orders get swept away. I understand now; I need to lower the leverage and start over. --- The exchange loves traders like me, haha. A bitter smile. It's time to make some changes. --- People who consistently profit usually trade with low leverage or no leverage at all. The contrast is too stark. --- Can a couple of lucky trades change your life? Think again. You still need to stay alive and keep playing. --- Losing your principal only happens once, but there are many opportunities to make money. The difference in mindset is huge.

That was really harsh, but this is the reality. I've seen too many people die at this very step.

That's so true. I already have several friends around me who have been directly wiped out like this, it's heartbreaking. --- 100x leverage is no different from suicide; that's how the pitfalls in the crypto world are dug. --- Even when the right direction is seen, being swept out is the worst, this is the most despairing. It should have been clear that staying alive is more important than making money. --- Regarding transaction fees, really, switching platforms can save a lot of blood and tears, but no one cares. --- "Opportunities to make money come one after another, but the principal is only wiped out once," this phrase should be engraved in every novice's mind. --- Over-leveraging is a betrayal to oneself; wake up if you're still dreaming of turning things around. --- The exchange's favorite is these people; the ones giving money are all their own parents. --- Low leverage is really boring, but only by staying alive can you continue to play. This principle is only understood after losing money.

Finished reading. To be honest, I understand this set of theories, but when the account starts to plunge, I still can't help but want to go all in... --- It's the same old story, but no one listens to advice. They have to blow up their positions once to learn the lesson. --- Leverage is like a drug; even though you know it’s addictive, you just can't quit. --- The phrase "Keep playing to stay alive" hits hard. How many people have died chasing the dream of a comeback? --- The most realistic thing is this—your principal is wiped out only once, but there are many opportunities to make money. --- I feel like there's nothing wrong with what I wrote, but the problem is no one will really listen. I'm currently using 50x leverage haha. --- "The idea that you're gambling to turn things around is actually just fueling the fire"—that’s a brilliant metaphor. --- It's a cliché, but every bull market has new retail investors coming in to verify this set of theories.

After watching so many times, I still can't help but want to complain. Truly, every time the direction is right, but I don't make it to that moment. A painful lesson.

That's so true. I was the fool who looked in the right direction but still got stopped out and lost everything. I regret it so much.
