Florida in the United States is taking new actions in the cryptocurrency space. State Senator Joe Gruters recently proposed two bills aiming to establish a cryptocurrency strategic reserve mechanism in Florida. This system is managed by the state's Chief Financial Officer and represents a new attempt at long-term financial planning and diversified asset allocation by the state government.

How is the reserve funded? Mainly through three channels: legislative appropriations, government-related fiscal revenues, and specially purchased crypto assets. However, not all cryptocurrencies are eligible—investment targets must be cryptocurrencies with an average market capitalization of at least $50 million over the past two years.

This approach actually reflects a trend: an increasing number of local governments and institutions are beginning to incorporate cryptocurrencies into their asset allocation frameworks. From El Salvador's Bitcoin treasury to the current reserve plans of U.S. state governments, this logic is gradually spreading. Of course, the specifics of implementation and risk management will depend on the final details of the legislation.

Florida's move is quite good. The US is also starting to follow El Salvador, it feels like crypto is really breaking into mainstream awareness.

Florida has really started to take action. Now the US authorities will have to recognize the legality of BTC, right? But with a market cap threshold of 50 million, how many small coins does that exclude? It still feels like a relatively stable approach.

Florida is really serious about this, and now the US is starting to follow suit. Wait, is the 50 million market cap limit serious? Doesn't that mean only the top coins can get on board? By the way, El Salvador is currently losing more with Bitcoin, and Americans might be falling into the same trap by copying this approach.

lmao florida trying to build a "strategic crypto reserve" on what... $50m mcap floor? that's literally just buying whatever pump-and-dump survived two years, the math doesn't check out here

Florida's approach is quite aggressive, directly using public funds to build a reserve... Wait, if this actually passes, does it mean mainstream approval is coming? By the way, with a market cap threshold of 50 million, there aren't many coins that can qualify, right?

Florida's move is quite solid, both building reserves and setting market cap thresholds, looking very stable. The US is indeed learning from El Salvador, switching so quickly is a bit surprising. Wait, the 50 million market cap screening criteria... Are they worried about small coins being too volatile? Basically, they're still exploring how to make government asset allocation less awkward. If this really passes, a bunch of states will follow suit, creating a domino effect. The details of the bill are the key; it's too early to say anything now. It seems these governments finally understand that crypto is not a gambling tool, but an asset class. Florida is now building reserves, and we're still arguing about whether to ban it.

The 50 million market cap threshold setting is interesting. Technically, it is a risk screening measure, but could this turn into de facto "priority for large coins"? From an engineering perspective, one point needs clarification — how is this average market cap calculated, and how are fluctuations within two years handled?
