Nvidia exceeded estimates for the fourth quarter, with a first-quarter revenue forecast of $43 billion, slightly ahead of consensus.



What to know: Nvidia Company (NVDA) surprised few by reporting earnings per share for the fourth quarter of $0.89, topping estimates of $0.84. Revenue of $39.33 billion exceeded the forecast of $38 billion.
The first quarter revenue forecast of $43 billion contradicts the Street consensus of $42.3 billion. The first-quarter gross margin forecast at 71% is likely a moderate disappointment. This is down from 73% in the just-published fourth quarter and 76% a year earlier.
Stocks are bouncing, but there are currently insignificant changes in actions outside of working hours. The management conference call starts at 17:00 Eastern Time after the profit reports.
