The wealthiest top 20% of Americans now hold approximately $49.1 trillion in stocks and funds, representing about 87% of the total.

In comparison, the middle 40% hold only $5.9 trillion, while the bottom 40% hold even less at just $1.5 trillion.

Since the pandemic in 2020, the top 20%'s stock assets have increased by $29.8 trillion, a gain of 154%.

Meanwhile, the remaining 80% have collectively gained only $4.2 trillion.

In other words, the top 20% earned more than 6 times the amount earned by the bottom 80%.

Simply put, people who own assets are becoming increasingly wealthy, while those without assets have hardly benefited at all.
