Abstract generation in progress

Last year, I wrote an article introducing how Azuki became a contributor to Animecoin and AnimeChain, as part of its Anime 2.0 project, aiming to build a new open anime world.

It’s no surprise that I pointed out at the time that the launch of this token and network could be a huge catalyst for the Azuki ecosystem.

Fast forward to today, we finally have a better understanding of the $ANIME token.

Last weekend, the Animecoin team announced that they will launch their $ANIME token generation event (TGE) later this month.

As explained by the creator:

“ANIME is a cultural currency - a movement that transforms 1 billion anime fans into a creative network owned by the community. Here, passion becomes power, cultural energy becomes real value, and the boundaries between consumers and creators disappear.”

As for token economics, we know that the total supply will be 10 billion, of which the initial circulating supply of $ANIME will be 7.69 billion.

The token will also be launched on Ethereum and Arbitrum, with the following distribution:

The 37.5% allocated to Azuki community holders is quite substantial. In contrast, the recent $PENGU airdrop allocated 25.9% to Pudgy Penguin community holders.

It is also worth noting:

24.44% of $ANIME will be distributed to the Animecoin Foundation to support the development of the ecosystem

13% will enter the treasury under AnimeDAO’s community management

2% will be used for partner projects such as Arbitrum, Hyperliquid, and Kaito community

Although the exact release date has not been announced yet, there is no doubt that the magnitude of this decline will be significant.

For example, the current market value of Pudgy Penguins NFT is $610 million, while the market value of the new $PENGU token has risen to $1.8 billion - the higher the substitutability, the more holders, right?

By extrapolation, the current market value of Azuki NFT is $414 million. Roughly estimating, if $ANIME follows the early growth trajectory of $PENGU, it could reach a market value of $1.2 billion in its first month.

This raises long-term prospects for us.

The thing about $ANIME is that its creator envisions it not only as a token for the Azuki ecosystem, but also as a community token for the rise of the global anime fan community.

At the very least, it can be said that this is ambitious, but it is the overall plan for Anime 2.0, centered around the upcoming $ANIME, anime.com, and Arbitrum Orbit-driven AnimeChain.

Big idea?

Establish an ecosystem that allows fans to raise funds on the chain to jointly create a new anime world, so that they can jointly own intellectual property and profit from any relevant releases as a community.

We will see how this vision is realized, but there is no doubt that there will be demand. There are over 1 billion anime viewers worldwide, and the global anime market is currently worth over $50 billion.

If $ANIME and its surrounding infrastructure can make progress here, and the overall popularity of anime continues to rise, then this community token can become a cornerstone of the top 100 cryptocurrencies in the long term.

Meanwhile, we have to wait for the announcement of the release date. For now, please keep a close eye on the performance of the major Azuki series before the highly anticipated airdrop arrives.
