😯 Michael Saylor: #Strategy will not issue perpetual preferred stock in Japan next year

Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor revealed at the Bitcoin MENA conference that Strategy will not issue perpetual preferred stock ("digital credit") in Japan within the next 12 months, and said he would give #Metaplanet "a one-year head start."
Meanwhile, Metaplanet is preparing to launch two new products — "Mercury" and "Mars" — officially breaking into Japan's extremely small perpetual preferred stock market, which currently has only 5 products 📈.
Mercury is expected to be listed in early 2026, with an annual yield of 4.9%, significantly higher than traditional deposit rates.
Since Japanese regulations do not allow ATM financing, Metaplanet will use Variable Price Options (VPO) to issue.
Overall, this move seems more like Saylor proactively stepping aside for a year, letting Metaplanet reap the benefits of the Japanese market first 🔥
