Base recently launched the Base-Solana bridge, allowing Solana tokens to be transferred to the Base network for the first time. However, usage is currently very low, with only about 60 transactions recorded. Jesse Pollak, Head of Base, said the team has proactively reached out to projects in the Solana ecosystem to encourage early adoption, but responses have been limited.
Many Solana projects remain hesitant, questioning whether transferring assets to Base brings real value to their users or fits their long-term strategies. Solana co-founder Toly responded that real benefits for Solana developers only emerge when applications built on Base move to run directly on Solana. According to him, simply moving tokens does not create strategic value; deep integration is what truly matters.
